Drawing from Thoreauvian ideas, we aim to share compelling ideas, stories, and necessaries of life for man under the basic categories: shelter, clothing, food, and fuel.

“For not til we have secured these are we prepared to entertain the true problems of life with freedom and a prospect of success,“ (Walden, "Economy”).

The Middle Classic is an editorial effort designed to distinguish a majority. This majority is timeless, familiar, influential, and diverse. We encourage a moratorium on excess while encouraging growth from nothing, before the middle class ethos becomes a cultural artifact.

We are not telling you what to do, how to do it, or when do to it. We simply believe that there is always an interesting, well-rounded, and satisfying journey to make.

Know what you need, know how to find it, and we will try to be the medium to aid in your search.
